Matt Rhule discusses Nebraska 2024 expectations, Dylan Raiola, NIL era
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule is anxious to get started on preparations for the 2024 season with the Huskers after landing five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola and a host of other potential impact players coming out of signing day. The turnaround at Nebraska is underway, he says. Giving his players the “gift of belief” with growing confidence is top priority this spring.
Rhule and the Huskers finished 5-7 last season, just missing out on bowl season after losing to Iowa in the regular-season finale. Rhule mentioned a better start to the 2024 campaign and taking the field with added strengths as major factors with this year’s squad.
“I tried to make up for lost time in my last year, and tried to really connect with some guys and feel like I did. As I came back here, I wanted to do the same thing. We got to the end of the season and three guys with draft able grades decides to come back and play another year. No one really went into the portal looking to cash in. I think it really started by taking time with everybody instead of doing stuff and explaining what I’m doing, just taking the time being super intentional.”
