NCAA Board of Directors says collectives count as boosters in NIL guidelines

NIL collectives are subject to the same NCAA rules regarding boosters, the organization reminded its membership on Monday.

The Division I Board of Directors issued “guidance” to schools clarifying that long-standing rules prohibiting contact between boosters and recruits apply to groups of donors that pool money to pay players through NIL deals, otherwise known as collectives.
