Sooner Duo Earn Big 12 Weekly Accolades
Coming off a weekend that saw a pair of perfect scores, junior Jordan Bowers and sophomore Ava Siegfeldt were named the Big 12 Co-Gymnast and Event Specialist of the Week, respectively. This is the fourth weekly honor for Bowers this season, and 15th of her career, and the second career honor for Siegfeldt. Bowers shared the honor with Denver’s Jessica Hutchinson.
The duo, who each earned a perfect 10.0 on Sunday, helped lead the Sooners to a 198.350-197.275 victory over No. 12 Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Bowers had a strong day on Sunday, recording her sixth mark of 39.700-plus in the all-around with a 39.725 to take home the all-around title. Not only did she take home the all-around title, Bowers earned the floor title with her second perfect 10 of the season. Bowers earned her second career perfect score on the event, bringing her total to five career perfect scores. She is now ranked fourth on floor and third in the all-around nationally.
