Spartans Collect Trio of Big Ten Gymnastics Weekly Awards

Following a record-breaking performance against Central Michigan, Fisk and Greenville last weekend, three Michigan State gymnasts earned weekly honors from the Big Ten, as announced by the conference Tuesday. Junior Skyla Schulte collected her third Gymnast of the Week award, while freshman MaKayla Tucker won her second Freshman of the Week honor and senior Delanie Harkness was named Event Specialist of the Week. 

MSU has earned 13 weekly awards from the conference this season, the most by any team in 2024. Schulte’s trio of Gymnast of the Week honors is the second-most by a gymnast in the B1G this season, while Tucker’s pair of Freshman of the Week nods ties for the most in 2024. The Spartans are also the only team to have three different gymnasts earn the Specialist of the Week award, with Harkness’ selection following three awards each for sophomores Sage Kellerman and Nikki Smith.
